Before 1966 there was not a presence of liberal Judaism in Vermont. However, there was definitely a need and desire to express new and modern ideas that had a liberal philosophy. In the world today and Vermont specifically, liberalism plays an important role. The characteristics of Reform Judaism parallel this philosophy.
Temple Sinai became a reality at Shavuot in June of 1966. It became an integral part of our lives since its inception. We have participated both spiritually and socially and have enjoyed all our family life cycle events at Temple. We feel privileged and honored to have Temple Sinai as our spiritual home.
